Tip: For the closest color match, choose a powder shade that is 3 shades lighter than your foundation. Tip: If you are over the age of 30, avoid powdering under the eyes as it can make fine lines and wrinkles appear more obvious. Tip: Facial oil-blotting sheets help to remove excess oil and shine without disturbing your makeup. Carry them with you everywhere you go!

I came across the stunning work of Alison Cameron who is a London based make up artist specialising in bridal and special occassion make up. Her work is diverse, covering all skin tones and I wanted to know how she gained her skills. Alison told me that she has been a make up artist for 5 years and began working at MAC Cosmetics. In her words, ‘I passed my makeup test and was unleashed on the general public at the MAC counter Fenwicks, Brent Cross, London. It was there I learnt my craft, the customers show you no mercy (you better know what your talking about!). Brent Cross attracts a lot of different types of people so I had plenty of practice working with all skin types/tones/cultures/attitudes.’
